| Hey guys, I am havin trouble with my UT99, Maybe someone else has seen this, Havoc maybe? I just did a fresh install of OS and UT, now it takes a minute before UT starts, I get a black screen then a minute later UT starts, also i cannot connect to ARC server it shows connecting and if i use my laptop it shows me on the server but all i see is connecting? I have seen this before but that was along time ago when i was running XP, a reinstall worked to fix it but its not working now?
Any ideas?? | |

| reinstall the 436 patch
if you installed the 451 patch or bonus cd that could be why so uninstall that.
if you did that
del the user and unreal tournament ini's and restart the game
if using amd multiple cores you need the dual core fix.
if you run win 7 or vista
then right click on unrealtournament.exe
go to properties
then click compatibility
then put on xp service pack 2 or 3

| Tks, but no luck at all, it works fine on my laptop, same OS win7 64, same install. 436 patch, i am thinking its a direct X problem, if i end task it comes up with that mainworld update error. If i get a chance i will redo my OS and ghost it before I install UT. little faster since i dont have to do the updates. still 30 minutes or so to ghost. may burn it to blueray to see if that makes it faster. | |

| ok now when the game is running open the task manager and in the processes tab you will see unreal tournament.exe
right click on it and hit set affinity
uncheck all except cpu 0
